VMware Importer Beta 2 makes it easy to convert your existing Parallels Desktop or Virtual PC 7.0 for Mac virtual machines to run with VMware Fusion.

VMware Importer Beta 2 imports Parallels Desktop 2.5 and 3.0 virtual machines with the following operating systems:

  • Windows 2000 Service Pack 4
  • Windows XP Service Pack 2
  • Windows Server 2003
  • Windows Vista

VMware Importer Beta 2 imports Virtual PC 7.0 for Mac virtual machines with the following operating systems:

  • Windows 2000 Service Pack 4
  • Windows XP Service Pack 2
  • Windows Server 2003

Just download VMware Importer then drag your Parallels Desktop or Virtual PC 7.0 for Mac virtual machine onto VMware Importer and click Convert.

VMware Importer will create a VMware Fusion-compatible copy of your existing virtual machine, leaving your original virtual machine untouched. It's that easy.

Due to differences in virtual hardware between Parallels Desktop, Virtual PC 7.0 for Mac, and VMware Fusion, you will need to reactivate Windows once you run your converted virtual machine in VMware Fusion for the first time.
