Security Alerts are used for quick notifications on emerging security issues affecting VMware products. Security Alerts, unlike Security Advisories, are temporary in nature and are continously updated as new information is received about a particular security issue. Once a patch or fix has been released for a particular security issue, a Security Alert is replaced by a Security Advisory as the definitive description of the security issue and mitigation techniques.
